Founded in 2016, Twenty-Five and Four provides small diaper shirts to premature (preemie) babies during the time that they are too small for traditional store-bought baby clothes. These shirts are customized and sewn together by volunteers across the United States, and are delivered to babies in NICUs (Neonatal Intensive Care Units) across the country.

Not only do these shirts provide the obvious benefits of a child’s first shirt, but they also help provide a sense of normalcy and a glimmer of hope to parents whose children are confined to a NICU during the first few weeks or months of their lives.

Twenty-Five and Four founder, Amanda Huhta, knows first-hand exactly what it is like for parents going through the different emotions of giving birth to a preemie baby. Amanda’s son was born at 25 weeks and 4 days, weighing 1lb 12.8oz. Before his birth, NICU doctors gave him only a 50% chance of survival.

Not only did Amanda’s son overcome those odds, but he absolutely destroyed them. Today, May 19, 2017, he turns four years old, and is a perfectly happy and healthy young boy.

Like Amanda’s son, who was considered extremely preterm at 25 weeks and 4 days, there are hundreds of thousands of children born prematurely in the United States every year. Twenty-Five and Four and their volunteers continue to do an incredible job supporting these families, and we can’t wait to join forces with Nook to help raise money for their amazing cause.
